# Smart Account

A smart account (also known as a smart contract account or smart contract wallet) leverages the programmability of smart contracts to extend its functionality and improve its security in comparison with externally-owned accounts (EOA). Examples for 'traditional' EOA accounts are Metamask wallets.

Features that smart accounts offer are:

* Multi-signature scheme
* Automated transactions via Session Keys
* Transaction batching
* Account recovery
* Gasless transactions via Paymaster

On top of that, VWAPE gives you **complete self custody over your funds**. There is no risk of a bank giving you a hassle for running a crypto business and the smart contract that is deployed is completely trustless and in your control. VWAPE uses one of the most secure and battle-tested implementations of a smart account.
